The spots of feedback in Rosalie McFall are still there in the GEMS, but they sound slightly reduced, sure - because the quality is so dulled & muffled in general, all the other sounds are reduced as well, all the brightness gone, all life & presence cast into shadow. You can achieve the same effect by listening through earmuffs...
But of course you can choose the version that suits you best!

Ha! Well, I ran it thru my little computer...seriously, though, it doesn't sound that muffled--that song, anyhoo; Jerry's voice was quite crisp...
EDIT: Well, just compared them; I will grant you that there is a difference--BUT, I'd argue you're over-stating the loss in RMcfall...to each their own, I suppose...it's NOT like ear muffs, and in the absence of waveform analysis of clipping, unsure of the freq's lost...
